Aaron’s Dad

This is my Dad, Bruce, who died in October 2006. He’s shown here with his third wife, Billie, in 1991. While I was growing up, Dad worked as a manager of discount department stores. Later, he owned and rented apartments, and finally retired and moved to Florida. I’ve taken after Dad in a lot of ways, both good and bad. For instance, he gave me my love of music. (Dad played saxophone in high school, and I was a professional musician and instrument maker for many years.) He also handed down to me the legendary stubbornness of the men in our family—but along with it came integrity, honesty, loyalty, and a determination to live according to principle. Dad and I didn’t always get along, but toward the end of his life, we came to accept each other and our differences.
